About Me

Tricia R. Yavitz LMHC, IADC, NCC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and I maintain a private practice in Ankeny, IA.

With over 15 years experience working in the mental health field, and as a graduate of Drake University specializing in clinical mental health counseling, I am currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are grief/loss, depression, trauma, anxiety, life changes, first responder issues, addiction, and LGBTQ+ issues.

I have also presented at conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of mental health and aging, self-care, and creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ clients.

I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.
